The Centre of Cooperatuon RUB/IGM proposed as a place of remembrance

In analogy to the well-known Route of Industrial Culture, the Regionalverband Ruhr (RVR) in cooperation with the Institute for Social Movements at the RUB intends to establish a "Thematic Route of Co-determination. Struggle for a decent working world" in the Ruhr region.
The headquarters of the Centre of Cooperation RUB/IGM in the O-Werk, the former administration of Opel Bochum, is to be one of these locations. The location is a reminder of the special culture of co-determination, the long struggle of the employees to maintain the location and the conclusion of a significant social collective agreement in 2013, which also included the expansion of the Learning and Research Factory (LFF) of the Chair of Production Systems at the RUB. Today, the Learning and Research Factory is one of the most important training places for the topic of technology-work-organisation for works council members and trade unionists from all over Germany.
