Background and ambition

The Office of Cooperation was founded in 1975 as a result of the mutual cooperation agreement between the Ruhr University Bochum and the Industrial Metal Union. As a permanent point of contact, coordination and initiative, it acts as a central institution in the subject area of work- and labor oriented research and is supported by the state of NRW. An organizational linkage between the Ruhr University and the rectorate as well as between the IMU and their educational center in the city of Sprockhövel enables the cooperation to make use of a wide-ranging professional network. The Office of Cooperation operates according to the decisions made in the equally represented board of trustees and the working committee.Prof. Ludger Pries in 2002. In June 2003 Dr. Manfred Wannöffel was appointed new directing manager. You can find a description of the organizational set-up under structure of cooperation. The structural and personnel changes did not pass undetected in terms of content. Complementing the successful principle of cooperation that has been in action since 1975, an overall conceptual project management system was implemented. It is supposed to underline the contentual profiling of the Office. The goal-oriented participatory project managementwas put in place in order to make the cooperation more transparent to all parties involved. Here you find further information about our profile:
